Before we delve into the Monday madness and sadness I will take you back to Sunday.
Here is my girl with her new bag! She was pretty psyched and took it to her cousins house packed with things. That is the stuff.
And I spent all day in Portsmouth again in a sewing class. Our four person class went down to a two person and I couldn’t have been happier. My skirt is coming along AMAZINGLY! I put in my first zipper…yee-haw. Check it out-It actually works.
I have to finish the lining and then attach it next weekend. BUT I tried it on and it fits and everything. I showed the woman at the counter of the Fabric Store and she said “Oh you are going to wear it all summer along.” I was like “I KNOW, Right?!” I had a sewing high.
We won’t really go into last night’s loss. Giants played the better game. I was really sad though. Steve cleaned the kitchen during part of his frustration last night. So sad.
Monday was another day. There was a definite bad moon a’risin’ in our tiny little community. Let’s see, silly personnel issues, sad personnel issues, frustrating personnel issues, kid stuff, parent stuff, and a late night back at the high school. Let’s just say that a day that starts with me crying in a meeting and ending with me standing in the boy’s bathroom with another teacher talking down a kid is probably going to have crazy written all over it.
And after all this craziness, the last place I was wanting to be was at our Faculty Jazz Band rehearsal. But when our fearless leader popped his head in my door I knew my jig was up so I headed down to the band room. Let me just say that after 10 minutes we sounded JUST like Mr. Calloway and crew…at least in our heads. It will at least get us some good applause during the talent show next week. Here is the man doing his amazing version of Minnie the Moocher.
OH and my friends before I call it a night I have to share our dinner tonight.
We had a box of Zatarain’s Dirty rice. We dressed up that rice with sausage, red pepper, cheese, avocado and cilantro. YUMMMMMMMY! Highly recommend for a quick weeknight supper.
A lovely quote from the lovely movie, STARDUST, hoping to make tomorrow a Terrific Tuesday…
“You know when I said I knew little about love? That wasn’t true. I know a lot about love. I’ve seen it, centuries and centuries of it, and it was the only thing that made watching your world bearable. All those wars. Pain, lies, hate… It made me want to turn away and never look down again. But when I see the way that mankind loves… You could search to the furthest reaches of the universe and never find anything more beautiful.”
